OCCH Welcomes New Board Member

OCCH is pleased to welcome Thomas T. Loos, CPA, (retired) to the Board of Directors. Mr. Loos was employed for 34 years by a regional CPA firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio and was elected to the partnership in 1980. He served on the management committee of the firm from 1995 to 2005 and was responsible for implementation of the firm’s time and billing software system, oversight of all accounting functions and the financial reporting of the firm. In addition to various firm administrative functions, Mr. Loos maintained a significant client accounting and tax practice with specific emphasis for clients in the real estate and construction industries. Client services in addition to annual financial statements and tax returns for HUD and LIHTC partnerships included preparation of HUD and LIHTC cost certifications, review of syndication proposals for LIHTC projects, business valuations, cash flow studies and forecasting for construction and real estate development entities, financing and equity proposals for business expansion and start up opportunities and tax planning and compliance for the privately held business enterprise and the individual business owners.

Early in his career, Mr. Loos served as the Chief Financial Officer of a diversified real estate developer in the Cleveland area. A 1972 graduate of John Carroll University, he was a member of the Ohio Society and the American Institute of CPA’s until his retirement in June 2009. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Ohio Housing Council and is past member of the Midwest Assisted Housing Management Association and the Construction Financial Management Association.
