February 18, 2010 marked the first anniversary of President Obama signing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 into law. That occasion was honored locally when U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio to visit Forest Square Senior Apartments, a project that received ARRA funding for development.

Forest Square, developed by Model Property Development, Inc, and managed by Brickstone Properties, LLC, received $1 million in HUD Recovery Act Tax Credit Assistance Program (TCAP) funds to revive project construction, which stalled due to lack of funding. Forest Square is a 21-unit new construction elderly project located in Hamilton County.
